5 Ways Small Businesses Can Survive In Any Harsh Economy

According to research, i believe that small business can still grow and survive an economy that is some how hard. No matter how bad the economy is small businesses can survive a crazy economy by taking some proactive steps in the right direction.

I have received some couples of emails and calls from my clients asking me on what they can do to stay in business considering the present economy that we are experiencing presently in Nigeria. I have some few important key point that can help you maintain your customers, sales and also attract new customers and increase sales. Follow this simple steps and get your small business rocking:

1. Provide a Unique Customer
Service All The Time.
Have a friend or colleague visit your business and provide feedback from a customer's perspective. This
person should be unknown by your staff and willing to provide a candid assessment , and you should use the advice as a yard stick to know what your small business is lacking and provide more benefit for your customers.

2. Make Sure Your Front And Back Office Work Are Efficient.
Are the front line and the back office telling your customers the same
thing? If not, then you must train and have a common slogan or message that all that is involved in your business must carry along. Your message and that of your staffs or your products and services must not contradict.

3. Manage Your Customer Relationships. They are the live blood of every business. They are the king and you must carry them along with respect and always put yourself in their shoes. If you treat them well, they will always come back and also introduce your business to their friends and family all because they were happy doing business with you. Keep in touch
often.

4. Review Your Strategic plan Monthly. Make sure you're doing the
things that will get you where you want to go. Your plans must be realistic and must go along with your vision and objective of business. If things are not going the way you want, then review and change your plan. Adjust your strategic plan as necessary.
Your "smallness" makes you more flexible.

5. Communicate Positively And Effectively.
Your employees and your customers need to be carried along in your business. Give them new directives and let them know in time if anything is changing for good in your business. Your employees should be the first to know your plans, benefits and strategies so that they can help fast communicate the message to your customers.
Nurture those relationships and always ask for feedback. Communication in business is a key to success.
